Do you remember the first time you picked up a camera?
I remember the first time I picked up a camera. I rolled out of bed one morning and just really wanted to start taking cool pictures. I would see cool photos on Instagram and knew I wanted to do similar things and share those experiences with my friends. That day I went to Camera World and bought a Canon 5d mark iii and since then i’ve been taking pictures and soaking up as much knowledge as possible.
Favorite source for inspiration?
Usually what inspires me are amazing photos. I like shooting everything so when I see an amazing portrait it was makes want to go shoot portraits. Same with landscape it makes me want to travel. Some people who I really look up to are @sklvr @vuhlandes @alexstrohl @ravivora . Every time I see one of their photos it inspires me to try harder with every photo and edit.
Tell us about your latest adventure...
Last trip I went on @rodtrvn and I drove down to San Francisco and met up with @sam_griggs. We got to fly in a helicopter around Catalina Island for sunrise. This was one of the most memorable trips that I have been on. Good company, swarms of dolphins jumping out of the water, and the intense breeze from the doors being off was something I will never forget. I was lucky enough to walk away with one of my favorite photos, a beautiful sunrise shot of the Island in amazing light. Sometimes it’s not about getting that perfect shot, for me it’s about the experience along the way.
Favorite song on the road.
My favorite music to listen to on the road is Odesza. I’m also a big fan of Logic.
How'd you hear about Just Chill?
My friend (@rodtrvn) was shooting photos for Just Chill and I tried one and really enjoyed it.
Andrew, Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself still traveling and seeing as much of the world with a camera in my hand.
One spot to visit in your hometown
My favorite spot in my hometown to go and chill at would definitely be up at Pittock Mansion. My favorite time to be up there is when the sun comes rising up behind Mt. hood. It’s a place I’ve always loved where I can sit back and relax and have zero worries.
Any last words?
Some places I’m looking forward to visiting are Glacier National Park, Iceland, Norway, New York, and Alberta.
Thank you to all the people who support me, it really means a lot.
And one more thing, NEVER give up on your dream!
