Do you remember the first time you picked up a camera?
I started shooting about 7 years ago and instantly fell in love with getting lost through my lens in the outdoors. For me It’s always been about exploring the natural world around me and chasing those fleeting moments of time in nature. The moments you have to hike all day for, freeze all night for, suffer a bit for in hopes that they reveal themselves to you where your left speechless in awe and wonder.
Favorite source for inspiration?
I’ve lived in California my entire life and the Sierras have always felt like home to me. In all my travels I’ve not experienced a place grander and more alluring than the Sierra Nevada mountains. Boundless inspiration lies between those summits, valleys, and rivers.
“You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.”

Alex, tell us about your latest adventure...
Just got back from exploring a bit of the Na Pali Coast on the Island of Kauai. The Island itself is an adventurer’s dream, from secluded waterfalls to jagged ridge lines to pristine tropical beaches it has it all. Explore the coastline by catamaran or kayak for unrivaled views of the soaring spires rising from the abyss.
What's your favorite book?
Eiger Dreams by John Krakauer. It encompasses Krakauer’s finest collection of work from numerous publications across the climbing and outdoor industry. Each gripping story transports the reader to the front line of the action with harrowing detail and vivid accounts of some of the most daring expeditions in mountaineering history. It’s like sitting in the local climbing pub in Chamonix listing to the grizzled man at the end of the bar tell you about his near death experience on the Norwand. Yes it’s that rad.
What's your favorite song on the road?
How'd you hear about Just Chill?
First heard about Just Chill through Instagram. It’s been awesome watching you guys continue to grow and expand upon the great things you’re already doing.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Still smiling with a face that’s 10 years older.
One spot to visit in your hometown
Yosemite isn’t technically my home town but with as much as i’m there, there isn’t a place that feels more like home. .
Any last words?
Get out there and live the life you want to live. Nothing’s stopping you but yourself.
